Read first

This blog is not for the faint at heart. If you wish to delve into what I'm facing, you are welcome to read. Primarily, it is for me. And this blog will ideally allow me to keep informed my family and framily about my current state of health. There will likely be unpleasantness and quite possibly some photos...and likely I wont know what I write until it is typed.

Home and healing

I came home Thursday early afternoon. Loopy on the pain meds, I have spent the last few days dosing in and out. One of the crazy side effects I'm having is auditory. You know the sound of the transporting in Star Trek? Well, that is what is in my ears all the time. Thankfully, it isn't annoying...or at least the audio books I'm reading have augmented the constant hum.

The mastectomy of my right breast went well. Pre op, I had dye injected to find the sentinel lymph nodes. Dr. Ting expertly took the first 5. Testing showed that 4 of the 5 had cancerous cells, so she opted to take more tissue. A most unwelcomed reality. In the numerous office visits this coming week and the week following this, my options will be laid out before us and decisions will have to be made.

However, for now, I have to concentrate on healing from the surgery.

I have more to write...but for now, need to rest.
