So... there hasn't been a lot happening lately, as we are still trying to get the whole medical team put together.
Some really good news, though: I do not carry the 'cancer gene'!!! This means surgery will just be for the tumor and not to remove extra femine parts.
We met with the Naturopathic Oncologist yesterday. Both Jeff and I really like and trust him. So he is officially part of the team.
I just dawned on me that the Oncologist I scheduled an appointment with for next Thursday, requires me to be in a hospital closer to her office. I knew that, but didn't connect the dots...this means I can't use the surgeon I really want to use. So, I will make a call on Tuesday to cancel that appointment and make an appointment with someone from the Rose Quarter office. Hopefully they will understand.
My chart and information has been recieved by the OHSU neurology department, so I should hear from them next week to schedule an appointment.
On average (and mine is slow growth), a tumor doubles its size in 100 days. I'm hoping that the ball will be moving forward before we hit that mark.
I guess we are finding our stride a bit. It's still pretty overwhelming. But I think we are still breathing.
