I don't know how to write this, so I will just be blunt. Don't panic!
In February 2016, I discovered a mass in my breast. I mentioned it to my Dr, and decided to do all the follow up and diagnostics when we got back from Europe (the Europe trip being far more important and a dream about to come true.). Well, we came back and I went in. At the initial exam, a mammogram and ultrasound was ordered before I left the office visit. I had those two tests done on May 26th.
The findings from those tests lead to a core biopsy, which was performed on June 1st. As an aside, when they tell you that it will be like getting teeth work done...don't take it as an absolute fact. Eight core samples and some bruising later, they had enough to send in. The test results are coming back at different times, as some tests take longer to do. The first result showed that I do have invasive cancerous cells. I'm still waiting to find out all of the results from the tests which will hopefully let us know what type, how big, and what the suggested forms of treatment are.
Best scenario is the one I'm holding on to: that it's a quick snip to take it out and then are completely done. No fun, but still doable.
I know there will be some who look things up. Keep those things catalogued for me...but let me ask for them when I am ready.
Again, don't panic!!!!
